On Our Guildlings Stage – Summer of 2017

AUDITION DATES – May 8 and 9, 2017
Registration will open at 6:00 pm and auditions will begin at 7:00 pm. It is only necessary to attend one night of auditions, so please choose the night that works best for you. Click the buttons below to download an Audition Form and a Conflict Calendar. We will also have forms available at the Theater on the evening of the audition. Please come prepared to list any conflicts between May 10th and July 16, as we will use this information to develop a rehearsal schedule.

Auditions will consist of both a short dancing and singing audition. Since the majority of the show is singing and dancing, cold readings will be done at the request of the director.

The Show

In almost non-stop song and dance, the show tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. When Daniel is returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune on a quest to test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and death.

The Cast

Little Ti Moune
A peasant girl and also Timoune as a child

Mama Euralie
Ti Moune’s adoptive mother. She is fearful of social status and greatly protective of her family.

Tonton Julian
Ti Moune’s adoptive father. Filled with courage that is fueled by the love for his wife and daughter.

Ti Moune
Our story’s protagonist. A peasant girl who has been adopted, she has much curiosity and energy. Earnest and romantic about all creatures. Falls tragically in love with Daniel.

Daniel
A youthful man from the wealthy part of the island. He is inherently bound to fulfill the expectations of his higher social class. Struggles with his feelings for Ti Moune.

Daniel’s promised wife

Papa Ge
The Demon of Death. He is proud and sly. His menacing ways are often a cause of distress, as he is in control of life and death.

Asaka
The Mother of Earth. She is very caring and nurturing. Her motherly disposition make her well-suited to provide inhabitants with anything they need.

Agwe
The God of Water. He is strong, clever, and compassionate. Enjoys playing with the rain and ocean.

Erzulie
The Goddess of Love, beautiful and elegant with a strong belief in the power of love. She has a sympathetic heart.
