I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is a musical comedy about everything you have ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws, but were maybe too afraid to admit! From first dates to bad dates to having children and rediscovering love later in life, this episodic musical explores every aspect of love and relationships that we experience throughout the course of our lives. Both insightful and hilarious, this musical has something for everyone!

Character Descriptions

Due to the episodic nature of this musical, this cast will consist of 4-6 performers playing the many various roles across the two acts. There is a ton of flexibility in terms of age, gender identity, and vocal range, but all performers will need to be both strong actors (with great comedic timing) and singers (with the ability to both hold their own in a solo, and sing in harmony) There is not a ton of typical musical ‘dancing’ in this show, but some numbers will require more movement than others.

A Note from the Director

This process will be extremely collaborative between the production team and cast. Looking for performers who love to contribute to the creation of the show and aren’t afraid to let loose, play, and have fun!

**Auditions will include some improv work — we are hoping to narrow in on the performer’s abilities with comedic timing, but also their willingness to play, collaborate, and think on their feet!

**We will have singing and reading cuts chosen for you at auditions, and until we have those selected we encourage you to become familiar with the show as a whole, or various roles you are interested in.
