The Michigan Arts and Culture Council

We are exceptionally grateful to the MICHIGAN ARTS AND CULTURE COUNCIL (MACC) for their continued support of arts organization throughout the state.

MACC has been very supportive and generous during the pandemic. We were grateful for a $3000 grant we received as part of their Emergency Relief Fund, which assisted 176 non-profit arts and cultural organizations around our state as they maneuvered through the fallout from Covid-19.

In 2014, the Guild submitted a grant proposal to the Michigan Arts and Culture Council (MACC). As a state agency, MACC is instrumental in the promotion and development of a strong arts presence in Michigan. The Guild grant proposal was for a capital improvement grant to upgrade our sound system. We received a $5,689 matching grant for this request.

In 2015, the Guild submitted a proposal to upgrade our fly line system. We were very fortunate in receiving a grant award of $11,250, again requiring matching funds, for this request. To see work on the flies go to our blog.

In 2016, the Guild submitted a proposal for lighting system upgrades. We were very fortunate in receiving a grant award of $8409 for this project. This grant also requires a matching expenditure from the Guild.

In 2018, the Guild was the recipient of two grant awards from the Michigan Arts and Culture Council (MACC). We received $11,139 for Capital Improvements to our parking lot and $9,250 for Operational Support to help defray costs in obtaining show licensing for the 2018-2019 season. Both grants are 100% matching grants.

In 2019, the Guild was fortunate to receive an Emergency Relief Grant for $2,780. This was very helpful during a period in which our regular operations had to be suspended.

For fiscal year 2020-2021, the Guild applied for and received an Operational Support Grant for $15,000. This was the largest grant received to-date and was much appreciated during the pandemic.

For fiscal year 2021-2022, the Guild applied for and received an Operational Support Grant totaling $19,030, which now was our largest grant received to-date. This was especially appreciated as we returned to live performances.

For fiscal year 2022-2023, the Guild applied for and received an Operational Support Grant for $13,750. As always, we are very grateful for support from the State of Michigan.

For fiscal year 2022-2023 we received a $8,500 grant from the Dearborn Cable
Communications Fund to be used for lights and sound equipment.

For fiscal year 2023-2024 we received a $9,996 grant from the Dearborn Cable
Communications Fund to be used for lights and sound equipment.

For fiscal year 2023-2024, the Guild applied for and received an Operational Support Grant
for $13, 750. We were fortunate to score 97% on this grant application.

In October of 2023 we received a $25,000 Michigan Covid Relief Grant administered
through the Michigan Non-Profit Association. This grant is help restore some of our
Operational needs that were lost during the Covid pandemic.

We are grateful to the State of Michigan for the recognition of the need for a vibrant arts presence throughout the state. We look forward to continuing our relationship with MACC to strengthen the presence of theatre arts in southeast Michigan.
